From Munich: Neuschwanstein & Linderhof Castle Full-Day Trip - Linderhof Palace, Ludwig’s quieter side of the story

1.From Munich: Neuschwanstein & Linderhof Castle Full-Day Trip

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 12,494 reviews Our pick

Munich day trip to Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, and Hohenschwangau by air-conditioned coach, with Marienbrücke views and Ludwig context.

“We had Alberto as our tour guide and Philip as our driver. Our party of 8 had an excellent time! The bus was very comfortable and we had a smooth ride. Alberto was great at giving us the history of Ludwig and fun facts along the route during the bus ride to the castles. It’s a busy day with a lot going on, but I appreciated the quick and efficient itinerary in order to see everything with some down time to freely explore the village and eat some lunch. Would highly recommend this day trip!”

“Great city. Nice service. Lots of stops in best places of the city. Couple of issues: 1. Bus without open roof, can't see most of the buildings guide is talking about. 2. Polish audio guide was often out of sync. Speaking about things much before or after pasing it through. 3. No English trip although it was advertised.”

Munich coach tour to Linderhof and Neuschwanstein, with English live guiding, Oberammergau sights, and included audio at Neuschwanstein.

“Visited Germany over the Christmas hols and was glad to find a tour to the castles on Boxing Day. Personally preferred Linderhof because of the intricate details and we could visit entire palace. Neuschwanstein was only abt 35 mins seeing part of the castle. The interiors are reminiscent of Residenz Munchen. Neuschwanstein inspired Disney if I am not wrong but cannot see his beauty from ground up. Aerial view would be better. Shuttle buses were not running thus upslope to Neuschwanstein can be a challenge. Being an animal lover I will not support horse carriages also. Thank you to Bashkin (driver) and guides Gabriel and Pedro for taking care of…”

7-hour Saxon Switzerland day trip from Dresden with included Bastei lookout entry, Bastei Bridge, and Königstein Fortress options, plus an optional steamer.

“I had a really good day visiting Saxony Switzerland. I am not fluent in German so sadly I couldn’t understand the guide so well, but it didn’t matter at all - the atmosphere was great on the bus and the scenery during the ride was also lovely. The value for money is unbeatable, as you stop for more than 2 hours at both Bastei and the Königstein Fortress, which was a good amount of time imo. It was a long day with lots of walking involved but I enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommend.”
